On my nightstand:
-Burt's Bees mamabee belly butter
-a giant bottle o' TUMS
-Goodnight Moon
-Breastfeeding Made Simple
-Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn
For some reason, this makes me laugh. And these days, I blame "the hormones", for uncontrollable fits of giggles over silly stupid things. (also, everything else.)
I'm pregnant, and the evidence is everywhere. Stretchy pants in the laundry basket, prenatal vitamins on the bathroom counter, a shower guest list on the end table by the couch, a sonogram print tacked to the calendar, a rocking chair and crib in the nursery, a body pillow taking far too much space on our bed, an empty tub of chocolate frosting in the garbage can.
The daily prayers for the health and growth of this new life, my struggle through nightly yoga sessions with a new center of gravity, the restless sleep filled with dreams of chubby cheeks and soft hair, the kicks and rolls that accompany me throughout the day, the long conversations about baby names, the invisible (and visible) work of my body making room and preparing, the comments of concern and excitement from friends, the hyperactive dog who has missed out on too many walks, the extra hours at work to prepare for my departure, the smiling husband who can still wrap his arms around 'us', the feelings of awe and gratitude in my heart.

That was BEAUTIFULLY written. First thing that has made me want to be pregnant again and not just want to have a baby again!
