Late Christmas Treat

This is the coolest thing ever. We pulled up to the lights,
tuned our car radio to a certain station, and voila!

If you chance to meet a frown....

Do not let it stay!
Quickly turn it upsidedown
And smile that frown away!

This Sunday I had the opportunity to teach Relief Society. And it was so fun because the topic was:
JOY and HAPPINESS!
(it was a much-needed pickmeup for a .wintery.rainy.snowy.cold. day)
And after boring all the women in my ward with my lesson, I'd like to now extend it to the whole world by posting it on our blog, because it was just that amazing!

It was based on three talks from the November General Conference Ensign:

President Monson
President Uchtdorf
Elder Wirthlin

I really encourage you to read one or all of these if you haven't already.
Using the wise words of these inspired men, I came up with a list of sorts:

HOW TO BE HAPPY:
(in spite of this crazy world we live in and the challenges thrown our way DAILY)

1. Be Like Christ
2. Make the Most of Today
3. Have an Attitude of Thankfulness
4. Learn to Laugh
5. Seek for the Eternal
6. Remember the Principle of Compensation
7. Trust the Father and the Son
8. Be Optimistic

“This is our one and only chance at mortal life- here and now. . .Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey and share our love with friends and family”- Thomas S. Monson

S.M.A.R.T. ramblings...

SMART GOALS!

S. specific
M. measurable
A. attainable
R. realistic
T. timely

We tried to keep this guide in mind as Jonny and I set goals for this year. This January is a new start- a new calendar year, a new year of marriage, a new semester of school, and a new season!

(I don't think I've seen this much snow here.
It seemed like it snowed about 2 feet in a day and a half.
We had to dig.our.car.out. last night to go to the grocery store...
What!? It was crazy. I've never done that in my life.)

But we are excited for the chance to make positive changes in our lives. We set some goals together, and had fun looking over the goals we set and accomplished last year.
Some areas where I set personal goals:
physical
mental
social
spiritual
financial

Every year in setting "new years resolutions", I have a hard time deciding whether to set just a few, simple goals I can remember daily, or set a bunch in a variety of different categories...

I want them to be ones that I will actually accomplish...but I guess I have a hard time stopping at just 1 or 2. There is so much I need to work on!

That's where SMART comes in.

What do you do?

WOW!

What a whirl.
I realize I haven't posted anything about our lives for the last couple months- months full of exciting things! So here is a concise update (for our avid readers...all 3 of you!) :
