friends and freedom

hi all.
we are free! i finished my last final of the semester yesterday. and had a lovely party with the ladies in my program last night. 22 of us started this together in june. i'm thankful for friends. being far away from family is really tough some days. friends get you through. especially through things like graduate school. we learn, grow, suffer and support each other through the ups and downs of the program. we've come from all over the country, from different religious backgrounds, family lives, financial situations, and previous educations. even though we all have different hobbies and passions and lifestyles, this program has already bonded us in a way that means lasting friendship. i always tell jonny that they really are all just nice. it just makes sense. why would anyone dedicate their life's work to helping children or elderly or disabled or recovering wounded achieve happiness and quality of life, through the gift of communication...if they were not a nice person? i feel blessed to have come here and to have met these amazing, intelligent, ambitious women. i look forward to the next year and a half we have together.
