Viva la Mexico!

?Como se dice "gringo" en ingles?

Well, we had a wonderful trip the last week of August. It was our belated Honeymoon! (getting married 3 days before school started and 668 miles away left us with only one day in Vegas on the drive back.)

So on August 24th we hit the high seas on a fantastic cruise! We were pampered, wined and dined, lounged and read, ate and danced, watched dolphins and sunsets, and explored a little of Mexico...for 7 days. It was wonderful to be together and to have this relaxing time to ourselves before getting back to the grind of school and work.

The whole trip was fun, from beginning to end. We left our apartment in Provo on the 20th, and got to spend a night in Las Vegas, having dinner with Monte, Tana, and Rich, watching the Bellagio fountains, and reminiscing about our first few days there together back in January!
We loved our drive to California and our few days with the fam in Bakersfield: A Hollywood trip to Wicked with the girls for Mom's birthday, shopping and swimming with the kids, and a day at Hurricane Harbor!

Then the day came for our embarkation, and we drove excitedly to San Pedro to board the "Vision of the Seas". We were able to stop at Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta, and explore a little of the culture: Snorkeling, winning a "newlyweds" dance contest, bargaining with street vendors, swimming at the beach, trying out authentic Mexican food, and taking tons of pictures! Mary had fun practicing her Spanish, and Jonathan had fun counting Pesos.
After we said a sad farewell to the loveboat, we stopped by the L.A. temple to walk around the grounds and gawk at each other as if we'd just gotten married all over again. :)
We are two lucky ducks.
