ketch(ing)up

i have to admit- i'm a little intimidated by the task of re-capping almost a whole year. how about an info dump? like a giant blob of ketchup on some crispy beer-battered fries. you're welcome.

i havent blogged since last august.
since then...here are some highlights:

we went on incredible SCUBA vacation to belize, celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday with a big reunion in california, jonny made homemade salsa with tomatoes from our garden, my jaw freaked out and i had to go on steroids, i started a new full-time job in the public schools, jonny finished building his bicycle from scratch, we celebrated our birthdays, we went to utah for conference and a BYU football game, we went to a Jimmy Buffet concert for free, we painted an old drop-leaf table mustard yellow, we hosted a huge thanksgiving dinner, i helped our youth prepare for the giant cultural celebration/ boise temple re-dedication, we built a bench/shoe storage for the garage out of 2by4s, we decorated and furnished the guest room- just in time to host 2 sets of friends and 2 sets of parents in one month, we went to utah for a very snowy christmas, we celebrated our fifth anniversary, we went on a ski trip with friends in northern idaho, we started a couples book club, i went on a shopping spree, we went to NYC for valentines weekend, we explored bruneau sand dunes with our canine companion, jonny ripped out a tree in the backyard and planted grass, i made curtains for the living room and a new light fixture for the dining room, i finally got ASHA certified!, i learned how to make maxi skirts, we went to utah (again) for Jenny's graduation and visited our old stomping ground, my lovely mom came to visit and we jammed at a Pentatonix concert. we joined a community garden that we work in each week, we took a weekend trip to Cascade and Payette lakes, we joined the YMCA, we celebrated the end of the school year with a fantastic dinner here, and hosted Bunco at our house. i took a friend's little boys to the Boise zoo, had crazy back pain and went to the chiropractor a lot, got a few massages, and planned some summer trips. :)

what a wonderful year, full of adventures! in between, we both worked full time, stayed busy with our church callings, we watched lots of netflix, we discovered tons of great restaurants, AND we managed to keep our household somewhat organized, and keep ourselves fed, clothed and sleeped. being a grown-up is overrated, in general.

heads up: photo dump coming next.
