i still wish i knew how to play the piano more than plunking out the right hand. i'm trying to get better at the guitar with what time i have. someday i want to learn to play the cello, or the bongo drums.
although i'll never make a living with music, music makes life worth living. i am one of the many who secretly wish for a soundtrack to my life. and, in fact, sometimes try to create my own by whatever means possible (singing aloud and dancing in some places is oddly discouraged). of course i have my old favorites, from motown to the beatles to classical to country. but i also like to find new musical loves. through the wonders of the internet and suggestions from savvy friends, i've discovered a few great songs lately that i thought i'd share. enjoy!
"i'm not your toy" by La Roux
"empire state of mind" by Jay Z (and Alicia Keys)
"folk song" by Aud Fauce
"oh no" by Andrew Bird (the whole Noble Beast album is great)
