wall flowers & a clown in a dog suit

Meet Palin.
She's a clown in a dog suit. She cracks me up. She's a 4-month-old Old English Sheepdog. (think The Little Mermaid). And she's adorable. While on our walk, I had a person stop in their car and roll down the window just to tell me so. She belongs to our wonderful friends, Luke and Marquette. The clown came to stay with us for a couple of days while they went to help at Girl's Camp this week. She is clumsy, goofy, fluffy, loving, and oh so cute.
This is pretty much how the days went:
  • Palin pesters Colby.
  • Colby gives in and wrestles with her for a while.
  • Palin gets too crazy and Colby nips her. She squeals and backs off.
  • Colby lays down again.
  • Repeat.
She makes our mellow Colby seem like an old fuddy-duddy gentleman with all of her puppy enthusiasm and energy. But really, his tail was wagging the whole time she was here, and they always had to be right next to each other. :)

And, I am very happy to report that some of our garden is still alive. The hosta plant bloomed and the gladiolas came out a pretty dark fuchsia color, and for some reason grew straight into the fence...maybe its trying to get some shade.
