rainy day thoughts

today, it is raining.

i think it has rained here twice since i moved to Boise.

i think it has rained in Illinois 1,365,769 times since i moved to Boise.

this thought pleases me.

most days are sunny days.

so you know what? i don't mind the rain so much. there is a novelty to it.

a freshness, with the drizzling.

a smell the wet dirt and open up your windows to it feeling.

or play and splash with your kid or your dog.

or smooch your lover, not minding the drenching.

or stay in, with a cup of something hot and a cuddly blanket.

i have not graced the blog with words telling our tales.

there is nothing to tell and altogether too much at the same time.

we live in a lovely little home. with a yard, and a garage, and a front porch.

i try to keep it clean. i try to furnish it. i am a self-proclaimed thriftaddict.

i explore our new city.

i get lost.

i work in a little clinic. i am blessed to have children in my life.

i am excited to go to this!

i am figuring out how to do my stuff.

Jonny works hard every day. he is figuring out how to do his stuff.

i asked him- if your duty is to work and provide for me, what is my duty?

to this he responded, after some thought- to be happy, look cute, and sing a lot.

i am striving to do my duty.

we are striving to be healthy, and eat delicious food.

Jonny says i've been hitting home runs in the kitchen.

strange choice of sports analogy from my BYU football lover. but i'll take it.

i've fallen hard for WinCo and Great Harvest.

and Jamie Oliver.

we are getting older. after his birthday, comes mine.

the gifts were thoughtful, the company gracious, the food incredible.

i am inspired to do and be better, this next year of life.

we made the journey to Utah for conference, spent time with family and friends.

and enjoyed the peace and love we felt as we listened.

what a birthday treat for me each year.

and what a beautiful place. the mountains are majestic.

we looked over the valley together and peered down at our alma mater

with fondness in our hearts.
