why hello!
i have 9 more days of school life left, people. NINE! single digits. you better believe it.
and here i sit, in the library, with my crazy self and my big nose and my fav pandora station keeping me company...trying to absorb information about laryngeal cancer.
and thinking about how happy i am that its sunny today. and that i had a lovely morning with my jonny. and thinking that this weekend was one worth blogging about.
we had a weekend of sociality. unique for us- who usually get our friday night kicks by watching old star trek episodes online and cooking frozen pizzas. i know.
friday, we went to a friend's birthday party which involved playing volleyball and discovering im not as completely uncoordinated as i thought. and also marveling at their birthday cake- a complete cupcake periodic table of the elements. (she's a high school chemistry/physics teacher, he's a MD student with a biochem PhD under his belt...or something of the sort. brainiacs. and super people.) i think i ate yttrium. atomic number 39. just looked it up.
then jonny went home to spend some quality time with the colbster while i went out to a school gathering. because of the aforementioned 9 day-impending doom/impending freedom issue, we wanted to have a last get together before all the ladies scatter across the state for internships. we played games and drank. i had gingerale.
saturday afternoon we went to a jimmer party, aka. watched the BYU basketball team beat the SDSU Aztecs while eating delicious food at Ali & Vance's place. fabulous.
saturday night was the real gala.
we were invited to a friend's piano concert. a small affair at someones lovely, mansionite home. yes, i make up words. we dressed up. i wore all black with big sparkly hoops and my fancy birthday heels. we ate fingerfoods and chatted with people twice and thrice our age. and it was wonderful. he is basically a professional concert pianist who makes a living by teaching piano lessons, but gives a performance occasionally for those lucky enough to be invited. he played for a solid hour from memory, Chopin's Opus 10 and Opus 25. it was one of the most incredible things i've ever seen/ heard. surreally brilliant.
and, if you thought that wasn't awesome enough, just wait till you hear what my jonnylover discovered for me saturday night, out in the dark, at midnight, in the rain, by the dumpster.
weird? maybe.
creepy? slightly.
extraordinary? definitely.
ha! you thought i was going to tell you, didn't you?
patience, young grasshoppers.
until next time.
toodleoo.
