DAY 1

Today is Day One of the U.S. having elected its first EVER African American President.
Today is Day One of Prop. 8 Passing in California! (again)
Today is Day One of my SECOND job. (life is about to get busier... is that possible?)
Today is Day One of WINTER in Provo, Utah!

I woke up to the first flurry of white this season. I scrambled to find a jacket, waterproof shoes, and a snow-scraper. The air was crisp, and something about it felt as if life had changed overnight. It's officially winter.
So here's to DAY ONE:
Day One of complaining about being cold, wet and sick of the "white stuff".
Day One of trying NOT to complain, realizing that we had a long, warm, beautiful Fall this year.
Day One of wishing that the sky would STOP producing snow and give me back the sun!
Day One of wishing that the sky would START producing tons of powder and give me good ski slopes!
Day One of scraping ice and snow off of my windows until my fingertips are numb.
Day One of relishing coming home to a warm apartment or hopping into a warm car.
Day One of snuggling on the couch with my hubby while watching the snow fall outside.
Day One of thinking that snow belongs with jingle bells and fur trees and anticipating Christmas!
Day One of wearing A MILLION layers and taking them on and off all day long.
Day One of paying MUCH more for our electric bill.
Day One of drinking way too much hot chocolate.
Day One of watching the neighbor kids from Hawaii play in the snow for their first time.
Day One of breaking out the good ole' UGG boots.
Day One of remembering why I love California so much.
Day One of trying to find the white Y on the white mountain :)
